"Men 2B" by Dan Bodan, Mathieu Malouf, Kayla Guthrie, Asher Penn and James Whitman

at Blim, April 20, 2007, Vancouver, BC

Mathieu Malouf

Mathieu Malouf is an artist born and raised in Montreal Quebec who is finishing his BFA at Concordia University.  Exploring future primitivism through paint, installation and digital works, Mathieu references pyschedelia and magic in contemporary settings. His work, both independently and as a member of the art collective Fynal Glayse, has seen him show in solo and group exhibits in Montreal, Toronto and Glasgow.  Exhibitions have included the Glasgow Center for Contemporary Art (Glasgow, 2006), residency and exhibition at the Drake Hotel (Toronto, Canada), Werner Whitman Gallery (Montreal, 2007).

Dan Bodan

Dan Bodan currently lives and works out of Montreal and also attends the fine-arts program at Concordia. Working in photography, video, digital media and music, Bodan blends these elements to create new forms that riddle as much as comment. Playing upon recent-past and lost-past oedipal iconography, Bodan employs his art to reveal the meanings embedded within the intangible media that surrounds and invades us.   His work has been seen in exhibits throughout Montreal, as well as in Edmonton. As a musician, Bodan has collaborated with artists throughout the nation and has performed in venues throughout east and western Canada.

Kayla also has several upcoming group shows (Emily Carr, Les Gallery, Helen Pitt) as well as an upcoming solo show at Dadabase.
